Buenos días chicos

Welcome to my another blog. I hope this online learning process is not too difficult for you. 

Very well, today we are going to do paragraph translation. You are supposed to use dictionary for translation ( online or offline) and we have already talked about maintaining a separate notebook for translation, I hope you are following the instructions.  This year we will practice translation of all sorts of texts, from news article to business documents.

Important : a) Use of google translator or any other translator is strictly prohibited 
                   b) Use linguee.es for online dictionary
                   c) One important that you have to keep in your mind is to identify the difference between simple past (preterite)  and past perfect tense ( ado / ido ). 
                   d) A word can have two different meaning, You can see the multiple context of the or a sentence on linguee.es




Día de la Tierra: 10 datos fascinantes sobre nuestro planeta


Cada 22 de abril se celebra el Día Internacional de la Tierra y este año es si cabe más especial, pues la conmemoración cumple medio siglo.
La fecha elegida por la ONU para honrar a nuestro planeta recuerda los eventos del 22 de abril de 1970, cuando 20 millones de personas salieron a las calles de las principales ciudades de Estados Unidos para protestar por el daño que la actividad humana le estaba causando en el medioambiente.
Con ocasión del Día de la Tierra, hacemos un repaso de algunos datos fascinantes sobre el planeta al que llamamos nuestro hogar.

1. La Tierra no es una esfera perfecta

 La Tierra está achatada en los polos, por lo que su forma se asemeja más a un esferoide oblato.


2. El agua cubre más del 70% de la Tierra


3. La frontera entre la Tierra y el espacio está a 100 kilómetros de altitud




4. La Tierra es un planeta de hierro

La Tierra es el más denso y el quinto mayor planeta del sistema solar.

    6. La gravedad no es igual en todos los lugares de la Tierra


7. La Tierra es un planeta de extremos

8. La Gran Barrera de Coral, situada frente a las costas de Australia, es la mayor estructura única formada por organismos vivos del planeta


9. La Tierra es el único planeta del sistema solar con placas tectónicas activas


10. La Tierra tiene un escudo protector

I hope all of you are enjoy this online learning process.  Very well, today for the first time we are going to start Translation class. In this class and all the future translation classes, you will get a paragraph either in Spanish or in English and you have to translate it the opposite language. You are supposed to use dictionary for translation ( online or offline) and you are also supposed to maintain an extra notebook for translation after the lockdown gets over. This year we will practice translation of all sorts of texts, from news article to business documents.  So far we have covered all the tenses and most of basic grammar part.
