But why are these seven places called wonders and what are the seven wonders of the world, let us tell you that they are called the wonders of the world due to the magnificence of their construction which took place in ancient times. In the year 2000, a campaign was launched to select seven new wonders of the world from 200 existing monuments to choose the wonders of the world. The survey of this popularity was led by  Bernard Weber from Canadian-Swiss and the names of the winning locations of the  Seven Wonders of the World  were announced on 7 July 2007 in Lisbon.
